Emu Creek Extreme Retreat is nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, Northern New South Wales, just 15km North West from the town of Tabulam, on the Upper Clarence River. We are 3 hours south of Brisbane, 2hrs west of Byron Bay and 1 hour East of Tenterfield.
How To Find Us
We have provide you with these maps to help you but recommend you refer to proper road maps to choose the best way to get here for you. We are not accessed directly through Drake, you will only go through Drake if you are heading East from Tenterfield. For everyone else you will be coming from/through Lismore(coast way)or Beaudesert(inland way).

Coast Way
Make way to Lismore, Head west towards Casino/Tenterfield(we are 100km from Lismore Bunnings on the Bruxner Hwy). If coming From Grafton, take the Summerland Hwy to Casino then turn left @ first roundabout, Bruxner Hwy. Travel to Tabulam where you will cross the Clarence River on the Largest, single lane, wooden bridge, in the Southern Hemisphere. 3km after the Bridge, on your right is Paddy's Flat Rd, Take this Turn. (again. Do not go to Drake unless you want to go there). Travel down Paddy's Flat Rd for 10 km, then turn left into Emu Creek Rd, That's US. If you cross over Emu Creek then you have gone to far.
Inland Way
From Baeudesert travel south to Rathdownie and on through the QLD/NSW Boarder Gate, to Woodenbong, (71.8km from Rathdownie to the Urbanville Turnoff, Woodenbong, McPhersons St). Travel South to Urbanville Pub, Turn left(12.6km From Woodenbong). Head Towards Old Bonalbo, 24.6km and on another 4.3km to a Right turn Marked "Clarence way", "Lower Duck Creek Rd", "Hootens Rd".(Or head on to Bonalbo, Tabulam, Then follow coast directions to ECER.).The Clarence Way is 23.4km stretch of dirt road also crossing the Upper Clarence River and is not recommended in flooding weather. At the far end T-Intersection is Paddy's Flat Rd, Turn Right and Travel 1 km to Emu Creek Rd on your left. That's US. If you cross over Emu Creek then you have gone to far.
Travel Time
Varies on Location, Road and Traffic conditions and your Load. Anywhere in SEQ should take less than 3.5hrs.
Park Access
Emu Creek Extreme Retreats Driveway is not designed for lowered Vehicles even though many get in and out, it is all at your own risk. Front Wheel Drive Machines with trailers and much gear may also have problems getting in and out to main campgrounds. Access and Egress to the main camping areas is via some creek fording, which is flooded and impassable to 2wd vehicles a couple of days a year, Campers may be asked, to move camp if we suspect that you will get flooded in. In DRY WEATHER 2wd's will have access to all areas at own risk. We have sealed the driveway in bad areas so you can get home and will do more pending finances.
NOTE
The Driveway is a 10km/hr area and is used by all vehicles and pedestrians including access for small children on bikes, LOOK OUT, Whatever the reason you don't want a major injury or death on your conscience, everyone deserves the right to a safe holiday.
