What

What Is Emu Creek Extreme Retreat? Well its fluid, Emu Creek extreme retreat is a hireable venue for events, of any sort that promotes healthy lifestyle that ordinary people can come and use on other weekends and periods. This has merged into training, product sales and advice and extras. We are an off road venue with a difference, for Power sports and other extreme sports. We are a private ecology park with sustainable management, somewhere you can come enjoy the bush and your sport that caters for you, and maintains the environment for you and your future generations. Being as the government cant maintain the forests and uses lock out policies, we choose to access, use and maintain for an overall better ecology. I would like to think every thing we do is for positive reasons, like getting kids away from TV, getting families out together, appreciation of nature and the world we have to live in, self empowerment, restful and much much more. We are a park where you make it what it is, if you do the wrong thing and jeopardies the future of the park for closure, then someone caused it, if you think it is the best park with the best people, you probably made it that way or visa versa. We work on self-governing but if staff are called in for an altercation that cannot be amicably sorted, then we will sort it finally. If behaviour jeopardies the park for other uses to come here in the future, we will act.
We are just trying to make a great time for those who come here, for what ever reason they come. For every one to have that we need a little patience, respect and understanding for each other and our families. I miss Australians and our values, this can be a place to remember them. I like to educate people in anything I know about... pass the knowledge on, so to speak. Education can be a key to happiness, as ignorance is the key to fear, stifling and hatred.
Give every Living species on this planet a fair go.

AIMS-

Emu Creek Emu Creek Extreme Retreat aims to develop and promote all aspects of off road sport and sports people. In the training and promotion of participants fair play, safety and sportsmanship while protecting and respecting the environment we play in. We aim to further the good name of the sports we support and supply environmentally maintainable tracks and systems, for ongoing generations to come.
We aim to become a national MX, Enduro, Trials and 4X4 Venue where rounds of National championships can be held, And we aim to never have a death or serious spinal injury, however with extreme sports the risk is high.
We aim to bring happiness to all that come here, even if it is a laugh only years later. I aim to see children grow into mature responsible adults of the communities, that my families live and will live.

THE TEAM-

Blair Maxwell

Blair Maxwell was born Sydney 1969 and grew up in both Sydney and Wombeyan Caves area, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. It was during this time Blair acquired the passion of riding Dirt Bikes around the local Sand mines, Topsoil mines and rocky trails of the Hawkesbury Sandstone seam of the Great Dividing Range. He began on his sisters 1974 XL100s, Small enough that he could barely touch the pegs let alone the ground. In Boy fashion, the XL100 was soon not suitable for the punishment and years of lobbying parents finally received a loan, enough to buy a 2nd hand RM80X, which was a pride and joy for a couple of hours. BANG. Well from memory the repairs cost nearly as much as a new bike and there would still be problems because Blair had bought a lemon. The RM was relegated to the shed while the future of Blair’s Dirt bike riding was discussed. I think there was a spell of horse riding then but the subscriptions of ADB, (a Christmas present each yr from the family, I believe to make sure Blair read something), Kept flowing in, compromises were made, and a shiny XR80 twin shock was in the shed. No inherited mechanical problems for this Single Mum. Blair of course, loved that bike with its lower seat height and better power to weight than the XL100 and less peak power than the RM for getting up snotty hills. Then it happened, evolution, water-cooling, single shock and more.  The little XR was no longer any match against the likes of the KX80D2 and this was the natural progression having ridden a friends brand new one. Blair was still a hack bush rider but his riding interests we not so MX. Carrying up to 15 liters of fuel and clothing Blair and the Boys from Canyon Leigh would undertake massive exploring adventures, crossing the countryside. Many years of service and hours of mechanical experience later, the KX80 was too small and limited in fuel range. Blair had taken a liking to big bore 4strokes and this is where his love for KTM began, that and, Phill Lovet rode KTM. Well a XR200 was added to the list and limited use of the Farm Italjet Scott trials bike. This was the heavy school period and riding was more limited and more for fun and release. The 200 was slow off the mark but you didn’t need to slow down for much. By 1987 the bikes were sold, school was finished and Blair moved to Sydney to make money he hoped in the film industry.
Blair Sent his first few years working as a production assistant for Film West, odd jobs from building to Marine engineers assistant on Boats around Sydney Harbour. While this was happening he was also going to TAFE studying a 4 yr course in film in film production techniques/ film Editing. Blair had a casual stint between sporadic film work as Barman in the art gallery of NSW and the Warf Theatre Restaurant. Blair became aware while working free on a music video, that Physical Special effects played an increasingly large part of film work, kept you out of dark editing rooms, and required many skills that he was exposed to growing up on a farm. He Got a job with Jupiter models and from there he moved into feature films mainly in special Effects, but also working in other departments such as lighting, unit/production and props. For 15 years in this period Blair donated his expertise and equipment in helping GreenPeace Australia reach their goals and is proud to have been of assistance. The Bulk of Blair's Career has been in feature films and Television Commercials and the Latter half of his film Career in Hollywood films.
It was on the set of mission impossible 2, that Blair bumped into dirt bikes again and went riding with a new mate. It only took 1 weekend away, rapping around Belangelo state forest and his old stomping grounds that they were both addicted again. Gone was the VFR750 and in its place a brand new 2000 model XR600. Blair had recently bought in Robertson NSW in the southern Highlands and would commute to fox studios or be away on location. The Robertson Boys such as the local crazy Australia post rider soon became friends and riding buddies, who talked Blair into entering in real events. For the next couple of years the XR630 competed in club events around southern NSW, Amcross, Victorian and world tryouts supermotard, NSW supermotard, and all the organized rides that could be fit in or done. It was now time to justify the money on his dream Bike, a big bore race bike that were now hitting the turf, A KTM. Around this time, Blair Assisted in the running of many Dirt bike events, from club events and sprint series, to the Blossoming supermaotard industry and went on to get his Motorcycling Australia Officials tickets to be certified in the industry. Blair’s Appreciation of what he learnt from his childhood and again in later life, from Dirt bikes is the reason he decided to leave the film industry to spread the joy and life lessons of the dirt Biking industry. To make somewhere for people to appreciate their natural surroundings and to have a hand in using, maintaining and enjoying the out door sport. Also to help educate those who don’t understand Use, not Abuse in sustainable, in protecting the environment and ecology of the Planet. To give children personal confidence and to wear them out, instead of putting them on pharmaceuticals in front of the TV or computer. To bring smiles on dials.
